Use the Clinical Experience Mapping Record

What is it?

This tool consists of 2 forms. One maps the domains across 9 curriculum areas. The second maps those same curriculum areas across different biological systems. The idea is to ensure that the whole range of general practice is covered. Areas that have not been well covered can be identified and entered on the learning plan.

Who developed it?

This has been adapted from the RACGP exam matrix by GPET

How is it done?

The forms are kept by the registrar and updated regularly as they see more patients.

What does the supervisor do?

The supervisor looks at the forms, identifies areas not covered and looks for opportunities to cover them, either in practice or with other attachments or teaching sessions.

Practice tips

Use the patient log to fill in this form.

Use the same form in exam revision, as the exam questions are based on the same matrix.
