What is it? This is a table allowing comments for what was done well and what could be improved around 5 areas of the consultation. Who developed it? This form is widely available on UK GP VTS websites and the BMJ Learning website. How is it done? This is meant for use with videoed consultations, but could be done using direct observation just as well. The rater lists what is done well and what could be improved in each area. What does the supervisor do? The supervisor picks out areas which could be improved and helps the registrar find alternative ways of performing in these areas. Practice tips 1. Both supervisor and registrar fill out the form and compare notes afterwards. Explore any differences in assessment. 2. Look for areas in other domains as well, such as practice management or ethical or legal issues which might arise in consultations Further Information Contact Tim Senior
