I want to assess the registrar’s areas of confidence and weakness
Use the WentWest Confidence Self Assessment Grid. Also known as WECSAG |
|
What is it? A self rating by the registrar of how confident they feel across all the areas of Australian General Practice. Who developed it? The original was developed by the Black Country Vocational Training Scheme in the UK West Midlands. The current version has been adapted for Australia by Wentwest. How is it done? The registrar goes through the form scoring their confidence from not at all confident to very confident. What does the supervisor do? Help the registrar identify patterns of underconfidence and help them become more confident in these areas through specific teaching at the practice. Practice Tip The form can look quite intimidating. Try separating the domains—Domain 2 (Applied knowledge and skills) is by far the largest. Do this one separately. Further information See the introduction page or contact Andrew Knight or Tim Senior.
