I want to assess which procedures my registrar can do.
Use the Procedural Skills Checklist |
|
What is it? This is a checklist of the procedural skills expected of a GP. Who developed it? This was developed by the RACGP and is included in the curriculum companion. How is it done? The registrar assesses themselves on the procedure and the supervisor has space to confirm whether they have assessed the registrar on this procedure. This can be reviewed regularly and updated as more procedures are learnt. What does the supervisor do? The supervisor becomes aware of which procedures the registrar needs to learn and practice, and is able to help prioritize. They can then look out for opportunities in the practice to carry them out. Practice tips Look out for opportunities in the practice in your patients and the patients of other doctors in the practice. If you are not confident about some of the procedures, learn it together or learn it from your registrar, and role-model the continuous learning process Further Information See the RACGP curriculum companion.
